  The Forgotten Ones

  just curious...is anyone hearing the older/infirm ones speaking out to others on how they are being treated in the congregation?

  without giving anything away, i have spoken to so many older ones (some are sickly or can't drive in the evening or can't drive at all) who can't make it to all the meetings, assemblies, etc., that are complaining on how they are being treated by the more righteous ones in the hall.

  the ones i have spoken to make the comment that it seems to be the younger elders that have less empathy and concern for these ones.

  A sister who contact my family in the 60's (door work), my mother first, thank God my mom said

  no thanks to the truth. Well she was able to get to my sister and her husband, then me(when I got married) and

  my brother. So this sister became part of our family. As years past and the sister aged, no husband

  and 1975 past she was taken in by my sister's family. For over 15 years I never heard her speak of her family.

  My ex sometimes would take her to the KH, when my sister was unable to do so. So she live with my sister and

  her husband and their 4 kids until she passed.

  Well to our surprise when she became ill she contact her son who lived in England. He came to visit her and went back to England, and that was it. I don't believe he came to her funeral.

  I wrote something on this in the past, about my ex neighbor (JW). He was moved to a nursing

  home and no family members in the area. We were neighbors for 10 years and I never told him I

  was JW. We had some interesting discussions, lol.

  Once or twice a month two elderly sisters come by to drop of the mags. I ask him why he

  didn't receive more visit from the friends from the KH. He told me there are so many new ones that

  don't know him, and they are so busy with the preaching work.

  His sister(his only living family member) who was never a JW and live up north calls me to check on him.

  An apostate checking on his health.

  Can one live a life free from reproach? When Jacob's wife Rachael couldn't conceive children,

  she became a reproach to those who knew her. To be childless was thought to be under a curse

  from God. Gen. 30:22-24.

  So are you a worm? Psalm 22:6 "I'am a worm a reproach of men". "All those who see me ridicule me.

  They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying. He trusted in the GB. let them rescue him.

  Let the GB deliver him, since He delights in them"

  OK not exactly what Psalm say, but close.

  a few runners ahead of of the crowd to scout for water, a nice place to rest it would have been a nice and

  quick trip. And 26 miles in under 3 hrs, hell 26 miles in 10 days they would damn near be at the

  borders of the promise land. The women are runner under 3 hrs.

  I guess the Israelites didn't participate in sports, no Olympian in the group.

  Anyway have a nice Valentine day, you will not go to hell if you buy a box of sweets for your love one. LOL

  Overlapping Generation

  the september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.

  his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .

  no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

  WE must keep this in mind, Methuselah was 187 years old when he begot Lamech and he lived

  to 969 years old, that is a hell of a generation, 782 years.

  Religious freedom which says that no one is to use force on another human being in matters of

  of conscience, in matters religious. We know some extremist religious group dictate to their members

  on matters of dress, what to eat, health (pray will heal all), and can't leave it.

  Have anyone ever heard of a court case where someone claimed their religious freedom was violated

  by their own religious organization?

  In other words when we speak about religious freedom we are talking about a certain religious group, but

  what about it's members. What is missing , "MY Conscience" something that will not fly in JW world.

  Gods Laws vs Principles: We have God's laws but principles are guidelines we can refer to in

  order to make wise decisions with our own conscience.

  I hope this makes sense.

  WBTS goes to Court of Appeal (Charity Commission investigation)

  after a number of high profile cases where both children and survivors clearly weren't adequately protected, the charity commission here in the uk launched an investigation into the wbts as a whole here in britain.

  the main concerns are around the child safeguarding policies being inadequate.

  wbts have fought every step of the way so far.. wbts have been to the high court, who told them to complain to the proper tribunal.. wbts have been to the proper tribunal, who told them that too darn right there were suitable grounds for the charity commission to want to investigate their inability to protect children.. and now the wbts have gone back to the court of appeal to demand that the charity commission inquiry be halted.. i hope the court of appeal tells them that, yes, they too need to have proper safeguarding measures for children and to get on with co-operating with the investigation.. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/charity-commission-defends-its-investigation-into-jehovahs-witness-charity-in-the-court-of-appeal.
